New facets and faces of The Clarksville Montgomery County African-American Legacy Trail are well underway, and 2023 was an exciting year for planning new directions and growth. First up, the Second Edition of the CMC African American Legacy Trail brochure is being designed by students in Rossview High School’s Academy of Media Arts and Technology. The brochure includes approximately 43 people/locations, which is more than double the size of the first edition brochure. And, we cannot wait for you to see it! We will be releasing it this spring.
More exciting editions: We’ve partnered with Dr. Paul McNeil, programmer and coordinator of the augmented reality version, which is also being designed right now. That new version of The Clarksville Montgomery County African-American Legacy Trail allows us to bring the legacies of Clarksville to anyone in the world with an internet connection. The narrators are from the Clarksville community, Arthur Nicholson, the President of Mt. Olive Cemetery Historical Preservation Society, and Kimberly Wiggins, Montgomery County Trustee. Narration recorded by David Brockman from the Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library. AND, even more wonderful partners, all of the photography, video, and audio was edited and formatted by filmmaker and producer Demetrius Hnarakis. A big thank you to our director, Terry Morris, for his efforts to grow the Legacy Trail by creating these two new editions, including a cutting edge new version, that will reach more people.
We will be sharing the launch date and celebration soon: Spring 2024.
